Note: The Congregational Survey is now closed.
UUS is searching for a settled minister and the Ministerial Search Committee invites your participation in the process by completing a Congregational Survey. The Congregational Survey is an important step in the ministerial search process. The data collected through this survey serve multiple purposes:
- to provide a census of our members and friends;
- to help update our congregational story;
- to inform our ministerial candidates about who we are and who we aspire to become;
- to communicate what we are looking for in a settled minister.
The survey consists of the following sections:
- Introduction and What To Expect in the Survey
- Your UUS Experience and Beliefs
- Aspirations for Our Congregation
- Expectations for a Settled Minister
- Your Demographics
- Conclusion & What to Watch for Next
The survey will close at noon on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019.
This survey could take anywhere between 15 and 60 minutes to complete, depending on the length of answers you provide. We anticipate the average time on the survey to be around 40 minutes. The progress bar at the bottom of the screen will display your progress toward survey completion. Since we are conducting the survey anonymously, it must be completed in one sitting, meaning you are not able to save your progress and return to the survey at a later time.
All questions are voluntary; if a question makes you feel overly vulnerable, skip it. Please be as honest as possible. Your leadership is ready and excited to hear what you have to say.
If you prefer, you may instead download, print, and complete the survey by hand rather than filling it out online. There will also be paper copies available at Sunday services or you can call the UUS office (319-337-3443) to request a copy be sent to you. If you choose to complete a paper survey, please return it to the Ministerial Search Committee mailbox at UUS or return by mail to UUS (c/o Ministerial Search Committee) at 2355 Oakdale Rd., Coralville, IA, 52241. The deadline to complete and return the survey is noon on Sunday, September 15, 2019.
At the conclusion of data collection and analysis (late November), the Ministerial Search Committee will prepare and distribute a report of the survey and small group meeting findings. The raw data will be kept confidential, meaning the report will discuss findings in aggregate form. No survey answers or quotes will be attached to individuals.
