The Abbe Center for Community Mental Health coordinates licensed professionals who work as a team to provide diagnostic and treatment services. Team members include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and peer support specialists.
United Action for Youth (UAY) is a Johnson County community organization whose mission is to nurture the potential of all youth to create, grow, and lead. Services include family mediation and therapy; a Youth Center with recording studio, art studio, art gallery, performance space, counseling, and the Rotary Center for Youth Volunteers; a family support program for pregnant and parenting teens; and a Transitional Living Program for homeless youth 16-22.

The South District Neighborhood Association of Iowa City sponsors the Diversity Market, among other community events. The market, held in the Pepperwood Plaza during the summer months, empowers minority entrepreneurs, including women, youth and those in the Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian, LGBTQ+, refugee, immigrant and returning citizen communities.
Table to Table keeps wholesome, edible food from going to waste by collecting it from donors and distributing to those in need through agencies that serve the hungry, homeless and at-risk populations. Click for info on how to give.

The Free Lunch Program operates six days a week, with volunteer teams preparing and serving nutritious meals to anyone who is hungry.
