The Iowa City Free Dental Clinic (FDC) is coordinated by the Free Medical & Dental Clinic of Iowa City, a non-profit organization established in 1971. At the FDC, they believe that access to affordable health care is a basic human necessity, and their mission is to provide the widest access to dental services possible to people in the Iowa City and surrounding community who would not otherwise have access to care.
Volunteer dentists, dental students, dental hygienists, and dental hygiene students provided services to hundreds of patients each year, many of whom are children. Provided care includes cleanings, cavity fillings, tooth extractions, x-rays, and cleaning.
Cash or checks to UUS (FDC on memo line) may be given on Sundays, sent to the office, or can be given online. (onrealm.org/uusic/-/give/SJOffering).
